The attack on Free Speech calls for a national strike.
For the US government to prevent criticism of the US president is deeply unAmerican.
And the power of the American people is our LABOR.
You see, when the business of America comes to a grinding halt, so does the gravy train of the ultra wealthy, and the consequently, the power they exert over us.
The national strike would continue until enough Republican US legislators resign that the US Senate and US House of Representatives would return to Democratic majorities.
A Democratic majority in both houses can impeach Trump and Vance then vote them out of office, i.e. power.
Hakeem Jeffries, or whichever new Democratic Speaker of the House would be elected, could then be sworn in as POTUS.
Until the Republican-controlled Congress is back under Democratic control, the Republicans will keep abandoning their power to Trump who abuses his power of the presidency to trample our American rights and to grift more wealth.
Republican legislators who no longer want to be under Trump’s thumb are looking for an “out” but they don’t want to call attention to themselves.
With a Democratic Congress and White House:
Cabinet members like RFK, Jr., Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, Kristy Noem, Linda McMahon, Marco Rubio, and other Trump picks can be impeached and voted out of office, or simply replaced under the new administration.
New cabinet members who actually care about the health and safety of this country can be nominated and voted in.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act can be nullified.
A new bill through which the ultra wealthy pay their fair share in taxes can be enacted.
The 28th Amendment which was ratified by 38 states can be published and Reproductive Freedom enshrined into federal law.
Gun Safety such as Safe Storage of guns, Reporting of Lost/Stolen guns, Universal Background checks for all gun sales, and Extreme Risk Protection Orders known as Red Flag laws can be enshrined into federal law.
Supreme Court justices can be impeached and voted out of office.
New Supreme Court justices can be nominated and voted into office.
Citizens United can be overturned.
Trump can be tried for his crimes and sent to jail for them.
Federal workers can be rehired and continue to serve Americans as they so honorably did before being unjustly fired.
Congressionally-approved funds can return to the programs they were appropriated for.
DOGE can be eliminated.
A higher federal minimum wage can be enacted.
The US military can stop occupying American cities, snatching people from the streets without due process, and bombing people in boats who “look like” drug dealers.
But the American People have to want these things badly enough.
And a national strike while effective could be painful for Everyday Americans like hardworking families, veterans, young adults just making their way, union members, retirees on a fixed income, public school students, and everyone who is not a multimillionaire.
However, We, The People, would prevail, our lives would bounce back, and our precious Democracy and national security would be restored.
So I ask you – do you #ChooseDemocracy ?
On Sunday, my family attended the Gettysburg DFA/Blue Storm Action picnic. It was a lovely afternoon of politics, friendship, and good food. I appreciated having the opportunity to speak. Afterwards, my family visited the National Military Park of Gettysburg.

On Monday, I noted the rising cost of groceries with the following post-
Are you enjoying the rising cost of groceries like coffee and meat?
If so, be sure to thank President Trump for his emotionally-driven tariff tweets and his mass deportation campaign!
Since Trump’s bizarro tariff tweets in April and his zeal to remove taxpaying undocumented immigrant workers from the country, the prices of:
Coffee increased 26%
Beef increased 14%
Oranges increased 17%
Bananas increased 6%
Chicken increased 6%
Chocolate Chip Cookies increased 5%
Potato Chips increased 4%
Milk increased 4%
“Core goods inflation – as measured by “Commodities Less Food & Energy” – increased 0.3 percent from July to August and 1.5 percent over the year, continuing its upward trend since January. Throughout 2024, year-over-year core goods inflation was negative; from January to March, it hovered around 0; and starting in April, it accelerated. Goods, as compared to services, are most likely to be affected by tariffs as businesses pass on costs to consumers. While there continues to be month-to-month volatility across detailed categories of goods, it’s clear that Trump’s tariffs have contributed to rising prices.” https://tinyurl.com/bhyt8b2c
In other words, Trump doesn’t lead with expertise like an advisory panel who could guide him in tariff policy. In fact, he just doesn’t care. Why? Because he is ultra-wealthy and can afford his ruined t-bone steaks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Meanwhile, farmers in Pennsylvania don’t have enough workers to pick the produce because deported workers don’t show up for work.
“In Tioga County, where President Donald Trump won 75 percent of the vote in 2024, farmers are losing patience with the White House’s promise of a quick solution for farm workers. Their urgent need is highlighted by stories like those of a multigenerational dairy farm that sold off all its dairy cows because the owner could not find workers and another where a farmer’s job listings have received no responses.” https://tinyurl.com/58etz4c7
And our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, never has to pinch pennies, especially regarding groceries.
But I care. I fight for Everyday Americans like the hard-working families, retirees on a fixed income, veterans, public school students, young adults just making their way, and everyone who is not an ultra-wealthy person, but sometimes has to make tough choices when affordability declines.
I won’t let a president of the United States make rogue policies that harm us. I’ll make sure to keep such a person in line.
So please voted for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd, 2026 because you know I’ll vote for you.

On Wednesday, I noted Constitution Day, but I didn’t feel like celebrating.
Today is Constitution Day.
While the Republican-controlled Congress is simply abandoning President Trump to violate it, from wresting their power of the purse for himself, to executive orders that defy the 14th Amendment and due process, to annulling the First Amendment, to avoiding the accountability of the Emoluments Clause, I find it difficult to celebrate.
Read this Oath of Office that they swore on Bibles and know these people have betrayed it, and consequently, the American people.
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
While making a mockery of every American Revolutionary, veteran, and Civil Rights activist who ever sacrificed in the name of Democracy, they trample The Law that we had heretofore agreed to be bound by.
Yet the rest of us can at least draw upon its spirit which we find between the commas of The Preamble.
“We the People of the United States,
in Order to form a more perfect Union,
establish Justice,
insure domestic Tranquility,
provide for the common defence,
promote the general Welfare,
and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,
do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”
When every subsequent generation adopts those 52 words, then our nation is secured and restabilized.
Perhaps when the cost of living rises too high, when too many jobs are lost, when the poorest among us die at an accelerated rate having lost the healthcare and food assistance they deserved, our friends, family, neighbors, fellow congregants will stop being mouthpieces for the ultra wealthy and remember what our government was truly about – Of The People, By The People, For The People.
Maybe then, they too will #ChooseDemocracy .

That same day, I met with the commissioners of Perry County.
Many thanks to the Perry County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Duncannon EMS for hosting their Commissioners’ Breakfast today. It was great to hear from all three commissioners – Frank Campbell, Brenda Watson, and Bill Lyons, as well as from the voters in the audience.
Of importance to the people of Perry County are clearly Infrastructure, Rural Broadband Access, and Healthcare.
In a county with only 3 pharmacies and a population over 46k people, it comes as no surprise that residents don’t have a local hospital, nor an urgent care, both of which are expensive to build.
Of course, if we had universal healthcare, which I will fight for as a Member of Congress, the covered clientele would offset the cost of building and maintaining these kinds of facilities, but our current US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, doesn’t vote for such things.
Instead, he voted twice for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that stripped away healthcare and food assistance from the poorest among us. He also voted against the Infrastructure Bill and the American Rescue Plan Act, both of which help to fund what Perry County residents demand.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd, 2026 because I care about PA-13 residents.
