District Round-up 12.28.25

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1

In the midst of this darkness, We, The People, are the light. While white, Christian nationalism enshrouds this country with kidnappings, crypto grifts, costly tariffs, cancellations of healthcare food assistance, denials of due process, mass layoffs of federal workers, cancellations of federal programs and agencies, dissolutions of our international relationships and reputation, and gaslighting our neighbors with propaganda, the shadows can feel neverending. However, We, The People, can blaze through with facts, science-based evidence, and the true interests of our nation.

Every demonstration we make in the names of Democracy, Reproductive Freedom, Affordability, Gun Safety, Universal Healthcare, Public Education, the Environment, Immigration Reform, and more is a chance to elucidate our neighbors on improvements to our lives.

The white Christian nationalists carry much hatred in their hearts. You hear it in their dehumanizing language of immigrants, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, people of color, and everyone who is not a professed white Christian male. With a love a our fellow human beings and our country, it is imperative that We, The People, call out such evil-doing through our demonstrations, letters to the editor, and other communications, but those things alone will not effect change.

In order to truly bring about the legislation, leadership, stability, and unity this country needs, we must support Democratic candidates, including me.

This is why Team Beth Farnham for Congress has been very busy building a volunteer database for you to participate through. By clicking on the button below to sign up to volunteer with us, you not only get to self-select how you would like to help this campaign, you begin to network with volunteers around the district. This database allows you to reach across county committee lines, find like-minded helpers, and work together to not only elect me, but build a strong progressive volunteer coalition across the district for years to come. Whether you’re helping to: staff a booth at a festival, call for fundraising, knock on doors, or do administrative work, you’re illuminating paths for those who didn’t realize our alternatives to the current gloom. So please sign up and shine on!

Many thanks to Steph Auer and her team of dedicated neighbors for the Gettysburg Holiday Dinner they put on today at The Barn at Herr Ridge. It was a lovely afternoon of fellowship, good food, and helping hands.

Many thanks also to the volunteers of Team Beth Farnham for Congress – Jack Stansbury, Sandy Hartzell, Bretni Lentz, and Brian Ecker who helped guide attendees through the parking lot and into the venue.

Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and Community!

While I am a strong proponent of separation of Church and State, I do hope that those who claim to be Christian, like me, remember to:

feed the hungry,

heal the sick,

help the poor,

and

welcome the stranger.

Unfortunately, there are many people who claim to be Christian who haven’t internalized such teachings. In fact, Trump bombed parts of Nigeria on Christmas Day, falsely claiming that Muslims in Nigeria are “targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians.”

Even though Nigerian officials agreed with the US airstrikes in Sokoto State against insurgents who may, or may not, have ties with the Islamic State, the fact is, Muslims in that area are their primary victims. A Nigerian official stated that the news about the strikes should not “get bogged down on the issue of religion.”

Even a Nigerian bishop also confirmed that the area does “not have a problem with persecution” of Christians.

But parsing the details of the who, what, when, where, and why of these airstrikes takes time and attention, something that Republican leaders like Trump and his cronies clearly don’t expect their followers to have. These manipulators will take any story, including Trump’s airstrikes, and twist it into a false narrative that foments a strong emotional reaction from their base of white Christian nationalists.

MAGA cultist, Lara Loomer, wrote, “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Christmas than by avenging the death of Christians through the justified mass killing of Islamic terrorists. You’ve got to love it!”

Another MAGA dehumanizer, Nick Sortor, wrote, “”The US military has just released video of them launching strikes on ISIS terrorists who’re kiIIing Christians in Nigeria It’ll get much, MUCH worse for these subhuman pieces of crap if they don’t stop the kiIIing.”

Sadly, many other conservative Americans will be gleeful at the idea that an American President can simply bomb whom he wishes in another country without the express permission of Congress.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Unlike our own US Representative, multi-millionaire John Joyce, I don’t support false narratives to get a vote. I believe in truth and transparency and will use them to underwrite legislation that not only improves our lives, but holds adminstrations accountable for the propaganda they have sold to our conservative neighbors.

Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd of next year so I can support a new administration that will not change the narrative to suit their political agenda, but will competently and lawfully advance our international relationships.

Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and Truth!

If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism.

We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you.

Sincerely,

Beth
