District Round-up 11.9.25

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. On Tuesday, voters across the country solidly rebuked the disasterous Trump administration. Americans don’t want what the Republicans offer – LOSS. Loss of food assistance, healthcare, jobs, national security, due process, human rights, and so much more is hurting Everyday Americans. Everyday Americans want leaders in their corner, not billionaires who sit around giving each other tax cuts.

All Trump and his cronies gave us that day was another day of Republican shutdown.

But…

In Pennsylvania, Justice prevailed.

Congratulations to Justices Donahue, Dougherty, Wecht, Beck Dubow, Wojick, Neuman, and Tsai! Pennsylvanians will continue to have reproductive rights and fair districts!

In Gettysburg, Johnstown, Chambersburg, Shippensburg, Hollidaysburg, Straban Township, Cumberland County, and Greencastle, Democrats won competitive races.

Congratulations to Chad-Alan Carr, Sylvia King, Sean Rogers, Lu Butler, Andrew Kilbride, David Wilson, Curtis Shop, Cameron Schroy, Jesse Blank, Joe Antonwitz, Ryan Kerney, Ed Deitsch, Montana Hartman, Michael Pederson, Jacob Morgan, Don Palesky, and Kathleen Pratt! (More announcements may be forthcoming.)

And in New York City and the states of New Jersey and Virginia, history was made!

Congratulations to Mamdani, Sherrill, and Spansburger for their historic wins!

We didn’t win everything, but we took the major races.

And next year, we will #ChooseDemocracy and take back our Congress!

You may have noticed that I am updating some things on my website. For example, at the top of each page, there is an ability to return to the home page by clicking on my picture, or you can click on a menu that includes Priorities, Meet Beth, Contact Beth, DONATE!, and Join Us!. There is also a search bar on the home page for you to search terms or issues important to you. Many thanks to Spencer McLaughlin for helping me with this project!

Recently, I updated my priorities on Democracy and Reproductive Freedom, plus I added Affordability as another priority. I will also be updating my other priorities, mostly to clarify my pledges to you as our US Representative. It’s also important for you to know who I am so I offer to you my updated bio titled, “Meet Beth.”

Dear Voter,

As your candidate, I am honored and privileged to run again for the office of US Representative for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District. It means everything to me to be a voice in Congress for our precious Democracy, Reproductive Freedom, Affordability, Gun Safety, Public Education, Universal Healthcare, Immigration Reform, the Environment, and more. And it all begins with representation that is real and accessible.

I’m not some multi-millionaire, but a stay-at-home parent, ready to return to the paid workforce. This position has afforded me the ability to meet with voters like you across our stunningly beautiful district in the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset and I have the tremendous support of my family, starting with my husband, Rob.

Rob and I married at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church almost 20 years ago and settled in Adams County, where we bought our home and are raising our children who attend the local public schools. We also grew together in our political journey from bumbling Republicans who didn’t really pay attention to the issues to the dedicated Democrats we are today. We raise our children to recognize that “All…are created EQUAL,” that when we realize each other’s right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” we love our neighbors as ourselves. Our exuberant dog and loud, fluffy cat round out our energetic family.

I don’t just talk about Everyday Americans, I am one, expecting that our tax policies benefit us, not the billionaires. I pinch pennies, recycle, drive a used hybrid car, and own one blue suit. I care about Freedom and the future of our children. As the child of an HVAC technician and a nurse, I spent most of my childhood in a row home in Baltimore and I always attended public schools. I put myself through college, and was the only member of my immediate family to graduate from it. I am forever grateful to my first grade teacher, Mrs. Thomas, who taught me how to read and write because I would not be where I am today without her support and guidance.

I’ve been a credit analyst, an administrative assistant for a lift company, a school board member, and a pharmacy technician. With a degree in Biology, French, and Secondary Education, I like to say I’ve studied life from its basic beginnings to its sophisticated ends. I’m not just trying to represent us, I’ve walked many of the same paths as you – from living on my own, to raising a family, to dealing with aging family, to holding a job, to being a public servant. And all of that is exactly what prepares me to run for this office.

I love to meet people, to listen to what’s on your hearts and minds, then take action. I’ve marched, delivered speeches, and created informational slideshows because I believe in tackling important issues like defending our sacred right to vote, recognizing that Black Lives Matter, advocating clear paths to citizenship, promoting responsible gun ownership, having our healthcare needs covered, affording our basic necessities, advancing agency over our own bodies, expanding public education, and so much more in ways that broaden understanding and educate others.

As our candidate and US Representative, I will never forsake the sacrifices that every veteran, union member, and activist who ever marched in the name of Democracy ever made. I am proud to continue their fights to improve our American lives. You can find my specific pledges as our US Representative under each topic on my Priorities page.

Last year, over 104,000 of you voted for me, for which I am entirely grateful. I am building upon those votes, continuing to knock on doors, call voters, hold in-person town halls, man tents at your local festivals, march in your local parades, speak to members of local organizations, reach out across social media, and respond to your heartfelt emails.

My team is growing bigger, stronger, faster, so please join us if you would like to help make this 2026 win happen. In the most important election of our lives, I ask you to please #ChooseDemocracy and vote for me, Beth Farnham, to represent us.

A vote for me is a vote for the American ideals of individual worth, equal rights, liberty, enfranchisement, and majority rule, once promised by the Revolutionary Founders, improved by the marching generations, and manifested in you.

Sincerely,

Beth

Last Saturday, I I attended the play, “Miss Lydia’s Church” at the Melody Theater of Cross Keys Village in New Oxford.

I appreciated the message of the play and the dialogue afterward with playwright Dorothy King.

May we always have the important conversations about race relations.

Thank you, Pathways to Racial Justice for promoting it!

If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism.

We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you.

Sincerely,

Beth
