District Round-up 11.23.25

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. Finally, finally, the Epstein files were voted to be released, first by the US House of Representatives, then by the US Senate, then signed into law by President Trump. Of course, Trump had the ability to release them all along, but he clearly didn’t want to. And our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, most certainly never signed the petition to force the vote to the House floor to release them.

Eww.

After Trump frantically changed his mind, understanding that his previous argument to keep them hidden was the losing one, Joyce, like every other member of Congress but the creep in Louisiana, voted to release them.

And now, we wait.

We wait for “records related to the aborted Florida investigation, the Manhattan investigations, and anything else the Justice Department did to examine Epstein’s dealings in the time in between.

They could include notes and reports written by FBI agents; transcripts of witness interviews, photographs, videos and other evidence; Epstein’s autopsy report; and some material that may already be public, such as flight logs and travel records.” https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/7-things-to-know-about-the-justice-departments-epstein-files

According to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the public will receive these files before Christmas, but reading about the abuse of girls and young women doesn’t feel like a Christmas present. To give you a sense of all that is coming, here is a recorded plea of some of the victims prior to the enacted legislation.

It’s utterly heartbreaking. Thank God four whole Republicans agreed to sign the petition along with the Democrats. They’ll be on the right side of history for this.

Unfortunately, little justice will prevail as Epstein is dead, one very outspoken victim, Virginia Giuffre committed suicide, and victims have suffered for YEARS. At least many of the scumbags who perpetrated these crimes or associated with Epstein will be named and feel some consequences. For example, Larry Summers, President of Harvard University, is now stepping away from his duties in disgrace over having consulting Epstein for an illicit work affair.

In other depressing news, Trump called for the deaths of sitting US Representatives because they dared to remind US troops of their oaths to the US Constitution and to therefore not follow any illegal orders from the Trump administration. Trump later recanted his point about death, but at no time in the hours between the first announcement and the recant did Joyce even remotely suggest that what Trump said was abhorrent. And these are the same people who, after the violent death of Charlie Kirk, called for an end to politically-violent rhetoric.

Meanwhile, I proudly stood with members of Gettysburg Rising at the Eternal Peace Light Memorial in Gettysburg to remember the sacrifices of Union troops for our Democracy and abolition.

Just steps away, President Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address on the same day in 1863.

In that speech he honored those who had sacrificed for Democracy.

As our Democratic candidate for US Congress, I am proud to continue that fight against insurrection, but also against racism, bigotry, sexism, xenophobia, and everything else rich white men use to divide Everyday Americans.

Like President Lincoln and all who fought for the United States of America, I too believe that we are ALL “created Equal” and that the dead “shall not have died in vain.”

May no American ever be a pawn in another “rich man’s war.”

Ours is a great nation because of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – a lesson that our US President who falsely accuses Democratic members of Congress of sedition for reminding American troops of their affirmative responsibility to refuse illegal orders has yet to learn.

Later, I had the pleasure of presenting the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to Gettysburg College Democrats. They’re a great group and I hope to work with them more in 2026.

If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism.

We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you.

Sincerely,

Beth
