District Round-up 04.26.26
Dear Neighbor, Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1
Tea with Blair County Federation of Democratic Women
Many thanks to the Blair County Federation of Democratic Women for inviting me to speak at their tea today.
I appreciated the engaged audience and their excellent questions. Oh, and the delicious food too. Hummingbird cake for the win!
It was equally great to hear from fellow candidates Sarah Holland and Caleb McCoy.
We addressed many issues affecting women like unequal wages, threatened voting rights, the lack of quality childcare, and inadequate healthcare, as well as their solutions.

Endorsement Alert!
Many thanks to the United Mine Workers of America for their unanimous endorsement of my campaign!
The United Mine Workers of America have a proud history of defending the rights of workers against the ultra-wealthy capitalists and right here in our 13th Congressional District!
Their organization is a manifestation of our First Amendment rights and I will continue their fight to unionize workers and protect coal communities when elected as Representative in Congress.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy

Representative Joyce is NOT a Steward of the Earth!
How is our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, mocking Earth Day and working to destroy our children’s health?
By sponsoring the Red Tape Act! (You can find this in my Legislative Comparison further down in my newsletter)
While former patients have confided to me his awful bedside manner, this sorry excuse of a dermatologist is breaking his Hippocratic oath to do all the harm he possibly can by trying to bypass a necessary review of the Environmental Protection Agency as normally required by the Clean Air Act for new projects.
It is absolutely outrageous that this person who claims to care about people’s health is so willing to forgo it to advance Trump’s agenda of incompetence and cruelty.
Perhaps like any ultra wealthy capitalist whose net worth numbers millions of dollars, he’s imagining the revenue he’ll generate if more people acquire skin cancer and other adverse conditions as companies release more toxins into the air. Whatever, he’s thinking of, it’s not the health of future generations.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You can vote me into Congress instead.
Please vote for me in the May 19th Primary Election so that I can properly represent the people across the 10+ counties of our stunningly beautiful district. If you are a registered Democrat, I will be on your ballot to vote for. If you are a registered Republican, I encourage you to write my name in and fill in the corresponding oval instead of voting for multimillionaire John Joyce.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and our health!

Women’s Democratic Club of Franklin County
Many thanks to the Women’s Democratic Club of Franklin County for inviting me to speak to them on Thursday evening. Their group is doing much in the community to support candidates for change.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy !
Below is the speech that I gave to their group.
Thank you Women’s Democratic Club of Franklin County for inviting me to speak at your meeting.
We are gathered today because women continue to fight for equality.
At a time when women are more than half the population, we are still wildly underrepresented in government.
In the U.S. House of Representatives, 128 women occupy 29% of the seats.
In the U.S. Senate, 26 women occupy 26% of the seats.
In the Pennsylvania State Assembly, women hold 32% of the seats, including Madame Speaker, Joanna McClinton.
In the Pennsylvania State Senate, women hold 32.4% of the seats.
Of course, we’ve never had a woman President, nor in the state of Pennsylvania a woman governor.
In Pennsylvania, women earn 81 cents to every dollar, in our 13th Congressional District about 70 cents to every dollar made by a man, and In Franklin County, the median income for all workers aged 15 years and older, regardless of work hours, was $49,795 for males and $31,669 for females. However, when specifically considering full-time, year-round workers within the same age group, the median income was $64,401 for males and $50,604 for females.
There is much work to be done and I am proud to be a part of that fight.
If I could make Reproductive Freedom my number one priority, I would, but if we don’t have Democracy, then we don’t have Reproductive Freedom either.
And so my slogan is Choose Democracy, but the pink capital is my logo because I will never forsake our causes.
We deserve not only equal representation, but equal voting rights and agency over our own bodies.
It is never anyone’s business, especially that of a legislator, to come between a woman and the health decisions she makes with her trusted medical professionals, just like it is never the business of anyone else to come between a man and the health decisions he makes with trusted medical professionals.
And let’s be very clear – the Save America Act that our own U.S. Representative, wealthy white male John Joyce voted for, is not a sincere attempt to prevent the minimal amount of voter fraud that occurs, but a real stab at suppressing the votes of those whose names don’t match those on their birth certificates – primarily married women.
In the wealthy white men’s world, women can’t possibly have it all, they have decided to relegate women to islands of domesticity instead.
But women know differently.
We know because we are equally human, equally reasoning, equally emotionally intelligent, equally able to manage working adults, equally able to write persuasive letters to the editor, books, speeches, social media posts, equally able to drive heavy equipment, create a pivot table on a spreadsheet, cover a breaking news story, sell a piece of property, contract a lucrative business deal, start a business, paint a portrait, reveal the image of DNA, and every other human endeavor that humans undertake. And how could we not be when the overwhelming majority of us are built as bearers of the human race to begin with?
I would assert that we are superior in the knowledge of our own bodies.
But that is not a position I covet –
I want everyone to know about all of our bodies, through evidenced-based science that is also LGBTQ+-inclusive and taught by qualified instructors.
I say these things because in our 13th Congressional District, crisis pregnancy centers, which are not regulated healthcare facilities, often worm their way into schools, teaching their purity-based philosophy of abstinence and victim-blaming, rooted in misogyny.
It’s one of the reasons I’m fighting for National Standards of Sexuality Education.
And so I pledge to you, as our elected representative to
- Enshrine into federal law Reproductive Freedom including, but not limited to: abortion, gender-affirming care, birth control, and IVF.
- Ensure publication of the ratified 28th (Equal Rights) Amendment to the US Constitution that reads, “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”
- Enshrine into federal law national sex education standards.
- Require clear labeling of crisis pregnancy centers (CPC’s) that are not regulated healthcare facilities.
I will do more than these things when voted into office, but I will always have us – our equality, our agency, in mind.
And I invite you to join me in this fight for equality by spreading the messages of my campaign – through my literature, bracelets, and bumper stickers that are on the table. Let’s help voters know my name and what I stand for because we don’t vote for the issues we care most about on the ballots, we vote for people.
So please vote for me in the primary and remember, when you choose Beth Farnham, you not only choose Reproductive Freedom, you Choose Democracy.
SEQUESTRATION
This is just your friendly reminder that before Trump began the war in Iran, the federal deficit was already slated to rise so much, it will trigger sequestration.
Sequestration means a mandated extra 2% cut to Medicare payments estimated to be about $415 billion by the Congressional Budget Office and $500 billion by Kaiser Family Foundation. Patients will need to find the money somewhere else.
All of this has been in order to put more wealth into the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.
I went over this information in my slide deck on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act last year (July 2025) which you can watch on the embedded YouTube video below.
Of course, we don’t have to remain in this nightmare scenario.
You can wake up and vote for this Democrat, Beth Farnham, to assume office because I’ll actually look out for Everyday Americans instead of the stinking rich.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy !
MAYFEST 2026
Many thanks to Team Beth Farnham for Congress Member Janis Jones and Volunteer Diane Buza for working with me today at Huntingdon’s annual Mayfest Festival.
It was a rainy day, but the voters brought the sunshine with their pledges to vote for me. Many of them are registered under different political parties, but no matter how they are registered, I plan to work for them, not some narcissistic billionaire.

Charity of the Week!
Please support Huntingdon County United Way, if you can.
Their new “Care Closet” provides “personal care and hygiene items to families and individuals in need across Huntingdon County.”
This is because “45% of households in Huntingdon County struggle to afford basic needs. Of the county’s 16,038 households:
- 1,851 live in poverty.
- 5,306 fall into the ALICE category: working individuals and families who cannot meet the cost of living.”

Comparing and Contrasting Votes on Legislation
Check out how Joyce recently voted, how I would have voted in comparison, and why!
If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism. We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you. Sincerely, Beth
