District Round-up 05.24.26
Dear Neighbor, Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1

Thank you Voters and Volunteers!
Thank you, Voters and Volunteers, from the bottom of my heart.
Not only did you make me the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, you showed your heart for Democracy especially in this critical election year.
Based on the unofficial results so far for yesterday’s primary election, Democratic turnout for PA-13 averaged about 27%, while Republican turnout averaged about 19%.
Moreover, there is less heart for Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, to lead this district. While I basically held my ground from the 2024 presidential primary election, losing only 900 votes, he lost over 24,351 votes between the two primaries.
To help me reach more voters and clinch this win, I ask that you please donate to my campaign linked in the comments below (due to algorithms).
I will keep showing up for you because I believe in US. Please look for my tent at local fairs and festivals, my in-person Town Halls, my literature, and phone calls throughout the election season, then please vote for me on November 3rd!
And please vote for the following Democratic candidates who also won their nominations around PA-13 –
Sean Steeg for the 30th State Senate,
Kathleen Pratt for PA 91st State House,
Todd Crawley for the 193rd State House,
Wendy Morgan for the 86th State House,
Shannon Jacksonforpa for the 89th State House
Caleb McCoy for the 79th State House,
Sarah Holland for the House for the 80th State House,
Caleb Donahue for the 81st State House,
Nathan Wood for the 34th State Senate,
Tawanda Stallworth for the 199th State House,
Jacob Cecil for the 32nd State Senate,
John Zangari for the 171st State House, and
Incumbent Representative Frank Burns for the 72nd State House.
Please congratulate them when you see them as well as all County Democratic Committee Women and Men, including several members of Team Beth Farnham for Congress, and the
State Committee members who won their party elections yesterday!

I AGREED to WGAL’s Invitation to Debate, but Will John Joyce Agree to the Same?
You’d better believe I agreed to debate John Joyce on WGAL News Channel 8 Susquehanna Valley, Pa.. The voters of PA-13 absolutely deserve to hear the stated positions of the candidates.
I truly appreciate this station’s invitation. The question is, will our own U.S. Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, agree to debate me?
Perhaps, this time, he will #ChooseDemocracy

Voting Day
Many thanks to the voters who turned out and did their civic duty, including those who voted for me!
It was a long, but beautiful day in our 13th Congressional District.
Many thanks to campaign manager, Jack Stansbury, who accompanied me around the district and took photos.

A Conversation in the Rain

As the lady approached me, I offered her a little shelter from the rain.
“I met you before,” she began.
Oh yes, I remembered. We had protested together certain actions of the current administration in the charming town.
“Is there something else that you’re concerned about? I inquired.
“Yes, it’s my grandson,” she began.
And she told me the harrowing story of her loved one – that he had been confirmed to be on the spectrum of autism when he was very young. He had needed speech therapy and wore diapers later than the normal age of development. With the intervention of early childhood education before kindergarten, he better socialized with his peers. In grade school, he had daily speech therapy and help with writing since he suffered weakness in his arms.
“He had help from a village of good teachers in this area,” she declared.
In high school he worked at a grocery store. After graduating, he worked as a janitor, but then, things took a turn for the worse.
Unfortunately, he was fired because he couldn’t keep up with the expectations. He hasn’t worked in years and he will be 21 soon.
With no access to public transportation and her restrictions on driving, he lives with her so she can best meet his needs.
But then his food assistance (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – SNAP) was cut off. Officials claimed he “appeared” very “high functioning” yet it was clear to her they hadn’t witnessed his level of disfunction as she had for the past 20 years.
So now she takes him to the local food bank once a week and worries, as any aging relative would do, about his future.
This is why I run.
Real people are being harmed by the current administration and this needs to stop.
I don’t want her grandson to starve because she can’t take him to a food bank anymore.
In the wealthiest nation of the world, he deserves the very basic dignity of nutrition, shelter, transportation, and healthcare.
When I am elected, I will work to establish a national healthcare plan so that Americans like her grandson can be properly assessed and not shunted by a system that would rather pay obscene amounts of money to violent insurrectionists or to bomb a country that didn’t attack us.
I will also vote to strengthen the social safety nets like SNAP, public transportation, and affordable housing to ensure no matter someone’s shifting circumstances, they will not suffer the indignity of starvation, homelessness, unnecessary barriers to transportation, and a lack of healthcare.
I care about the people of PA-13.
Please vote for me on November 3rd and #ChooseDemocracy!

Country Memory Days
Many thanks to the Mifflin County Democratic Committee for sharing their tent with me. Despite the rain, it was a great day speaking with voters. When I asked in this very conservative area about how they felt things were going at the federal level, the majority of them indicated negativity and frustration. I asked them to please vote for me to check Trump’s power and they quite willingly took my literature with a silent nod. I’d be glad to conduct official polling to find out more. Please donate to my campaign at ActBlue to help make this possible.

Comparing and Contrasting Votes on Legislation
Check out how Joyce recently voted, how I would have voted in comparison, and why!
If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism. We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you. Sincerely, Beth
