District Round-up 07.26.26
Dear Neighbor, Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1
Pennsylvania Machinists Stand With Beth!

*Update* The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO just endorsed my campaign too!
Many, many thanks to the Pennsylvania Machinists Union (Pennsylvania division of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) for their generous donation to this campaign.
Special thanks to Eastern Pennsylvania MNPL Director Bob Miller for handing the check to me personally.
Because of the sacrifices of the IAM and Pennsylvania AFL-CIO members, as well as those of other organized workers, we have the time off, both paid and unpaid, minimum wages, and safer work conditions that previous generations could only dream about.
These benefits weren’t handed out willingly by benevolent employers, they were fought for every step of the way by unionized workers.
I’m proud to stand with this IAM, the Pennsylvanai AFL-CIO, and other unions across our district, state, and nation. And every meeting, every picket line, every strike they hold is a validation of our sacred First Amendment rights.
When elected, I’ll work for them by voting for the PRO Act and other legislation that protects the rights of workers to organize, have benefits, and experience even safer working conditions.
Thank you to the Juniata Civic Association for their wonderful Community Day! It was a lovely event and I was glad to meet so many voters.
Thank you also to volunteers Angie and Chris for helping with the set-up, Billy, Pam and others for staffing the booth, and to Team Member Eileen for managing the volunteers and teardown in the afternoon.

PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS!

Call your senator to discourage them from voting for Todd Blanche as U.S. Attorney General.
While only the confirmation hearing for the Senate Judiciary Committee began this week, it is imperative ALL U.S. senators understand that Blanche is unfit to serve before the vote has any chance to head to the Senate floor.
As Trump’s former private lawyer, Blanche has been operating as Acting U.S. Attorney General in Trump’s favor by suppressing the full release of the #EpsteinFiles .
He is hell-bent on persecuting those whom Trump sees as his political enemies, like Cassidy Hutchinson, who testified in the January 6th hearings.
Blanche pardoned several January 6th terrorists and under his “leadership,” nearly a quarter of all Department of Justice staff resigned.
Our country is already more vulnerable to our enemies, both foreign and domestic, than ever before.
Our Pennsylvania senators can be reached at the following DC numbers:
John Fetterman: (202)-224-4254
Dave McCormick: (202) 224-6324
Tell the to vote NO on Blanche whenever it should come to them for a vote.
Thank you for all you do to save our country from Trump’s cruelty and incompetence!

🚨🚨 ENDORSEMENT ALERT🚨🚨

Many, many thanks to the National Women’s Political Caucus for their recent endorsement of my campaign.
This is the group that was (from their website) “…founded in 1971 by these strong, prominent women:
Gloria Steinem, author, lecturer and founding editor of Ms. Magazine
Shirley Chisholm, activist, former Congresswoman (1969-1983) and 1st black woman to run for president of the United States
Betty Friedan, activist and author of The Feminine Mystique
Fannie Lou Hamer, voting and women’s rights activist and civil rights leader
Bella Abzug, former Congresswoman (1971-1977) and former president of Women USA
And about 300 of their closest friends from across the country.”
I am proud to stand with them in this fight for equality, including agency over our own bodies and equal pay for equal work. I also appreciate their inclusion of trans women in their cause.
Why do they include trans women?
Because trans women aren’t the threat to women and girls that Trump and his cronies make them out to be.
“We joined National Women’s Law Center and 170+ organizations to condemn Trump’s cruel and lawless anti-trans executive order. This order doesn’t “protect” women from any real threat. It actively endangers all women.” January 2025
“Banning trans and intersex women athletes is never about fairness; it’s about exclusion. Everyone deserves the right to play, compete and belong. #LetThemPlay#AccessforAllWomen#ProtectTitleIX National Women’s Law Center” – February 2025

This Gen Xer Says, “Just Say No to AIPAC“

AIPAC donations?
Absolutely not.
Expanding defense technology cooperation and integration between U.S. and Israeli militaries?
Not that either.
While Israel was attacked by the terrorist group, Hamas, in 2023 and was within her right to retaliate against Hamas, Israeli forces have clearly abused that power to create what Amnesty International labels a “genocide” – killing civilians, including women and children, indiscriminately.
From Wikipedia –
“The Gaza genocide is the ongoing,[19] intentional, and systematic destruction of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip carried out by Israel during the Gaza war. It encompasses mass killings, the targeted killing of children (who account for 30% of those killed),[20][21][22] deliberate starvation, infliction of serious bodily and mental harm, and prevention of births. Other acts include blockading, destroying civilian infrastructure, destroying healthcare facilities, killing healthcare workers and aid-seekers, causing mass forced displacement, committing sexual violence, and destroying educational, religious, and cultural sites.[23] The genocide has been recognised by a United Nations special committee[24] and commission of inquiry,[23] the International Association of Genocide Scholars,[25][26] multiple human rights groups,[c] state governments, numerous genocide studies and international law scholars,[32][33] and other experts.[34]”
The Palestinians are suffering at the hands and hardened hearts of the Israelis who keep encroaching on the previously-agreed upon yellow line.
“For Palestinians, these shifting markers are a daily reality of forced displacement. The Government Media Office in Gaza has recorded 3,795 Israeli violations of the ceasefire, resulting in 1,168 Palestinians killed since the “ceasefire” agreement in October last year. UN data indicates that roughly a third of these deaths occurred in areas near this advancing demarcation line.”
We cannot trust Israel not to abuse more power, and therefore , the Palestinian people, with integration of American defense technology.
It’s horrendous that our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, voted for the 2027 budget bill with section 219 intact, but since he has accepted AIPAC money, though not a lot, it’s hardly a surprise.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd so that I can properly represent us and, with other caring legislators, stop Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.

Farnham vs. Joyce vs. Environment

How does Joyce vote on the Environment? Horribly.
The League of Conservation Voters gives him a LIFETIME score of 3%.
Joyce doesn’t care about being a steward of the Earth for future generations, but I do.
You can read my priority of the Environment on my website, linked below.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, in November.

South Mountain Fair

It was a great evening to speak with voters.
Thank you Adams County Democratic Committee for hosting a table at the South Mountain Fair.
Thank you to the voters who stopped by, shared what was on your heart, and listened to my responses.
I even got to catch up with fellow candidates Kathleen Pratt and Todd Crawley.

Bowling With Dems
Many thanks to the Perry County Democrats for hosting a community bowling event yesterday afternoon at Perry County Lanes in New Bloomfield.
It was a great way to meet voters in the community and hear about the issues most important to them.
When I am elected to Congress, I will continue to listen to you about the issues that affect you most so that I, along with other caring legislators, can draft the legislation that improves the lives of Everyday Americans.
Because that’s what a real U.S. Representative does, she exercises the Will of the People, not cedes power to the executive branch.
You can fire our current multimillionaire representative by voting for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd.

Charity of the Week!
Even though charitable donations will not meet the overwhelming need of food assistance and healthcare for lower income Americans, these charities are a stopgap until I am elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and can legislate helpful federal programs as well as prevent a rapacious president from illegally impounding the congressionally-approved funds for those programs.
Please donate to The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties, if you can.
From their website:
“Advocates help adults and families’ access community and school-based services at no charge. They work hard to ensure that individuals with disabilities have the same rights, opportunities, and privileges as people without disabilities.

Comparing and Contrasting Votes on Legislation
Check out how Joyce recently voted, how I would have voted in comparison, and why!
FYI – if you’re having trouble seeing this comparison in your email, please click the option for “Read on Blog” and it will load properly for you.
If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism. We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you. Sincerely, Beth
