District Round-up 08.02.26
Dear Neighbor, Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1
Standing with Lt. Governor Davis in Blair County!

It was an honor to stand with Lieutenant Governor Davis and fellow candidates Sean Steeg for State Senate, Caleb McCoy for PA House79, and Sarah Holland for PA House 80, as well as with newly-elected Blair County Democratic Committee Chair McCailey Flaugh last Sunday in Duncansville, Blair County.
Lieutenant Governor Davis introduced his beautiful family and spoke of his and Shapiro’s accomplishments over the past four years like investing more in public education than ever before, hiring hundreds of new law enforcement officers, creating thousands of new jobs, and putting money back in people’s pockets.
I especially appreciate how these leaders have stood up to Trump by refusing to release private data from the voter rolls and the names of poll workers. Moreover, they just sued the Trump Administration over its illegal effort to hold millions of critical homeland security dollars hostage in another attempt to control Pennsylvania’s elections.
In the future, they’ll do even more for Pennsylvanians.
I hope you join me in voting for these gentlemen, as well as all other Democrats down the ballot, including me.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy !

PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS!

How are our Voting Rights on the line?
Because the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the FY 2027 Reconciliation (Budget) bill which provides $60 billion for defense spending, $13 billion for intelligence operations, $12 billion for farmer relief, and $10 billion for the SAVE Act.
Even though U.S. citizens already prove their citizenship to the states where they register to vote, the SAVE Act is requiring further proof of citizenship for any change of address, name, party, or if one was kicked off the voter roles for not voting often enough, re-registration.
And in Pennsylvania, the Real I.D. doesn’t provide that proof of citizenship. Only 5 states have the kind of I.D. that does prove citizenship, but Pennsylvania isn’t one of them.
Instead, Pennsylvania residents, especially people whose names don’t match those on their birth certificates, including married women who took the name of their spouse, will need to use a current passport to prove their citizenship.
Passports cost $165, fyi.
In related news, there isn’t massive voter fraud like the Trump administration disingenuously claims to justify this curtailing of women’s agency.
Of course, tying the SAVE Act to the budget which is actually needed, was exactly the excuse the Republicans wanted so they wouldn’t take any blame for the denial of voting rights that will take place when it goes into immediate effect.
Our own U.S. Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, voted for this reprehensible act.
And Trump is demanding that the Senate avoid their recess so they can vote for it and Trump can sign it into law should it pass.
Call our senators and ask them to vote “NO” on the FY 2027 Reconcilliation Bill until they remove the SAVE ACT portion of the bill.
John Fetterman: (202)-224-4254
Dave McCormick: (202) 224-6324
Then, elect me, Beth Farnham, into Congress on November 3rd, so that I, along with other caring members of Congress, can work to restore any voting rights we lost through the Trump administration.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy!
Doorknocking in Blair County!
Let’s knock on some doors to elect Democrats up and down the ballot!
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy !
The Trump Administration to End Medicare Part D

Get ready to pay more money for prescriptions if you have Medicare D.
You read that right.
Unsatisfied with having already ended the COVID-era subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Pennie in Pennsylvania, and causing skyrocketing premiums in the process, the Trump administration is looking to end government subsidies for Medicare Part D.
If you’re a senior citizen or a younger person with a qualifying disability, you’ll likely pay $20 more for your prescriptions each month according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.
That’s $20 of your precious income you could have used for other essentials like groceries or gasoline.
Why?
Because our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, won’t speak against it.
While he claims to support seniors with lower costs for Medicare, he fully supports Trump’s agenda. He reveres Trump and so will not act against his insanity. In fact, he voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that increased the Pennie premiums in the first place.
But I will counter it. I will actually stick up for seniors and not support bad policy. I advocate a national healthcare plan that will resemble Medicare for All, ensuring that Everyday Americans get the healthcare we need instead of sponsoring needless wars like the one in Iran right now.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd to represent us in Congress so Americans can have affordable healthcare.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and good health!
Fire in the 13th District
My heart goes out to all who were affected by the fire this past week. May they get the help they need quickly.
The Tyrone Truck Fair

Many, many thanks to Team Member Eileen Roberts and Volunteers Pam, Mike, Sarah, and Owen for setting up and staffing our booth at the Tyrone Truck Fair today while my family wrapped up our vacation. Thank you also to my dear family and Pam who helped take it down later.
Though I arrived much later into the event, it was a beautiful day to meet voters in the charming town of Tyrone, in Blair County. Local voters shared what was on their hearts and minds at the federal level and took information away so they could learn more about my campaign.
While I ask for people’s votes, I’m okay with people not making a decision in the moment.
Why?
Because informed voters make the best voters!
When you read my brochure or visit my website, you get the information straight from me, all in the comfort of your own home.
I make a point to place our tent at the local festivals and I will answer any questions you have, but I am just as happy for you to take the information with you so you can review it at your own pace.
And to the voters who alreay know you’re voting for me – THANK YOU!
Thank you for also taking my literature to share with friends and family.
Thank you for sharing my social media posts on the issues that matter most to you.
Thank you for putting up my yard signs.
Thank you for attending my Town Halls.
(Sidenote, save the dates of October 4th and October 17th – more details to follow!)
Thank you for donating to my campaign.
Thank you for volunteering for the campaign.
Thank you for spreading the messages of this campaign so other voters can vote for me with confidence.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and real representation!

A Trump Supporter Learns the Hard Way She Voted Against Her Own Interests

A Trump voter from Texas realizes that I.C.E. is arresting more people than those considered “criminals.”
“A Texas woman who voted for President Donald Trump told Newsweek that federal agents detained her longtime childcare provider at a routine immigration check-in and later notified her that she faced more than $1.8 million in civil immigration penalties.”
Make no mistake, the immigrant in question was allowed to remain in the United States, as long as she checked in periodically.
“A stay of deportation was granted on July 23 of this year, preventing ICE from carrying out Basele’s removal while a humanitarian-based petition remains pending. Despite the stay, Basele remains in ICE custody.”
THIS, THIS Is who I.C.E. is arresting – hardworking immigrants whose only crime has been to overstay their visa.
Why?
Because the USA isn’t chock full of immigrant criminals like Trump and his cronies claim.
We do have a great number of older, white, male pedophiles though.
Many thanks to Katie Phang for her lawsuit against acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche.
“The Justice Department confirmed Thursday that it has turned over unredacted Epstein-related records directly to a federal judge for private review, marking the latest development in a lawsuit brought by attorney and MeidasTouch host Katie Phang challenging the government’s handling of the files.”
May Justice prevail for victims of Epstein, I.C.E., Trump, and this cruel administration.
Vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and JUSTICE!

Charity of the Week!
Even though charitable donations will not meet the overwhelming need of food assistance and healthcare for lower income Americans, these charities are a stopgap until I am elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and can legislate helpful federal programs as well as prevent a rapacious president from illegally impounding the congressionally-approved funds for those programs.
Please donate to The Fulton County Medical Center Foundation, if you can.

From their website:
“MISSION
To continuously improve the health of our community by delivering quality healthcare in a kind and compassionate manner.”

Comparing and Contrasting Votes on Legislation
Check out how Joyce recently voted, how I would have voted in comparison, and why!
FYI – if you’re having trouble seeing this comparison in your email, please click the option for “Read on Blog” and it will load properly for you.
If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your local Democratic committees or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism. We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you. Sincerely, Beth
