District Round-up 10.11.26
Dear Neighbor, Thank you for reading my District Round-up. As your candidate for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, it is my honor and pleasure to deliver to you where I’ve been and what issues I’ve tackled in the past week. Criss-crossing the counties of Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, and Somerset gives me great opportunities to meet with voters, hear what is on your hearts and minds, and the chance to voice my fight for Everyday Americans. If you would like to contribute to my campaign, please donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-farnham-for-congress-1
Doing the Job That Joyce Doesn’t

Many thanks to all who turned out for Sunday afternoon’s Town Hall in Blair County at the AFSCME building.
Voters asked great questions about the issues important to them like A.I. Data centers, Reproductive Freedom, term limits, Social Security, and more. I appreciated the opportunity to interview for the job of U.S. Representative.
Many thanks to Campaign Manager Jack Stansbury, Team Member Eileen Roberts, and Volunteers Sarah Holland and Pam Beckwith for making the event run smoothly.
And what does our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, say about Pete Hegseth hiring Elon Musk and Newt Gingrich to lead the “Future of War” project?
Absolutely nothing because he silently approves of Pete Hegseth and Trump’s agenda.
Come to my next Town Hall in Johnstown on October 17th from 2-4 at Studio 404 to understand how we can stop this awful administration from making our beloved nation ever more vulnerable to our enemies.
And please vote for me Beth Farnham on November 3rd so I can help change things for the better.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy!

No Term Limits

Why don’t I believe in setting term limits for Members of Congress?
Because elections are term limits.
“But, Beth,” you say, “the same people keep getting voted in, even when they are not fit to serve.”
I agree with that.
And the United States just went through a very weird time which I term, “Schrödinger’s Senator” when we didn’t know whether or not McConnell was alive or dead.
I say, “No term limits,” but I also say, “Members of Congress should be compelled by law to hold public, in-person town halls to which thousands of constituents attend and some ask questions live, on camera, to the legislator.
In other words, no more hiding from The People.
This way, we don’t judge someone for being older, but we do judge their competence and integrity.
And the voters will share anything of concern, determining the fitness of a legislator based on real observation.
No more Mitch McConnells. No more Diane Feinsteins. No more John Fettermans.
An informed voter is the best voter.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd so I can propose legislation like this to re-engage the voting public with the people who claim to represent us.

Legalizing Weed

Someone tell Bill Clinton – I’ve never smoked marijuana, nor inhaled it.
But I have a FEDERAL policy position on it.
I approve of medical cannabis and would want it regulated like any Schedule III prescription.
I believe that recreational cannabis, like alcohol, should be regulated by both state and federal law.
Stateside – they can decide how cannabis is sold, distributed, imported, and possessed.
“Dry” zoning areas would be mooted because medical cannabis should not suffer such restrictions.
On the federal side – cannabis should have a minimum age of consumption of 21 years old, meet TTB standards of taxation and labeling, meet FDA standards of food safety and additives, meet FTC standards of marketing which does not target youth, and be supported by the ATF in targeting criminal enterprises that do not meet the above standards.
I would support the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act of 2026 which protects financial institutions that serve state-legal cannabis businesses.
Please vote for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd, so I can enact legislation that defines, regulates, and protects medical and recreational marijuana use.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and freedom!
Bedford Dems Have Spirit!

Many thanks to the Bedford County Democratic Committee for inviting me to speak at their Fall dinner Wednesday night.
It was a lovely evening with dear voters who care about our country. We shared a patriotic spirit and commitment to making these last few weeks count.
Fellow speakers former Senator Bob Casey, Sheriff Danny Cieslak, Attorney Todd Eagan, and young Poet Mesa M were inspiring!
Many thanks also to Campaign Manager, Jack Stansbury, who accompanied me and put together several signs for guests to take home with them.
I can’t wait to represent these wonderful people in November.

Joyce is Proud to be Endorsed by “Grab ’em by the Pussy”

“Democratic bitch” is what the victim heard.
“A Democratic congressional candidate in Arizona said she was raped in August while out fixing campaign signs along a road in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and she thinks the attack may have been politically motivated.”
Why did the Cornell 7 happen?
Because conservative men believe they should have power over women’s bodies and that means not only removing women’s agency, but also physically overpowering women.
Our own US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, is most certainly not pushing for the full release of the Epstein files.
Nor does he comment on the Cornell 7 rape.
He certainly is not issuing any statement of sympathy or support to that victim or this one.
This is the culture that Republicans in Congress, who are proud to be endorsed by “Grab ’em by the pussy,” want to perpetuate.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You can vote for Equality by voting for me, Beth Farnham, on November 3rd, because I believe in our agency over our own bodies and real consequences for those who sexually assault others. I am proud to be endorsed by the National Women’s Political Caucus who is a staunch defender of Equality.
Together, we #ChooseDemocracy and women’s rights!

Meeting a Legend at the End of a Long Day

Many thanks to the Franklin County Democratic Committee for hosting Boots on the Ground doorknocking initiative. I enjoyed meeting new volunteers ready to help Franklin County turn 💙.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the Town Hall in Chambersburg! Your questions were excellent and I appreciate how engaged you all were. That was two hours well spent, IMHO.
Thank you to the Fulton County Democratic Committee for inviting me to your dinner tonight. It was wonderful to speak with voters. I even met the inspiring Admiral and former Congressman Joe Sestak! Many voters left with yard signs and bumper stickers to blanket the town in pink and navy.

Charity of the Week!
Even though charitable donations will not meet the overwhelming need of food assistance and healthcare for lower income Americans, these charities are a stopgap until I am elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and can legislate helpful federal programs as well as prevent a rapacious president from illegally impounding the congressionally-approved funds for those programs.
Please check out the United Way of Bedford County page and donate to them, if you can.

Comparing and Contrasting Votes on Legislation
Check out how Joyce recently voted, how I would have voted in comparison, and why!
FYI – if you’re having trouble seeing this comparison in your email, please click the option for “Read on Blog” and it will load properly for you.
If you’re like me, you love this country as much as I do and work to make a positive difference. In the midst of this Constitutional Crisis, please consider reaching out to your county Democratic committee or Democratic candidates so that we can strengthen our Democracy instead of letting it slide into fascism. We don’t just #ChooseDemocracy, we choose Pennsylvania, we choose The United States of America, we choose Humanity and I am deeply glad to work along side you. Sincerely, Beth
